With one of the lowest literacy rates in the Western Hemisphere, many people in the Jocotenango area struggle to find jobs or put food on the table. The aim of Education for the Children is employment in jobs readily available to those with qualifications in neighboring Antigua and Guatemala City. Their holistic programs give the School of Hope students chances for their full potential to shine. The school has a desperate need to improve their Sexual Reproductive Health curriculum by expanding its reach to their younger students and improving the frequency at which it is taught.
